PSA TIME - SOCIAL ANXIETY
I am an extrovert. I am talkative, I love the company of people, and I love things such as public speaking. I have anxiety.
Introverts can have anxiety.
Extroverts can have anxiety.
Anyone can have anxiety.
People you may never expect can be suffering from mental illness. You can’t look at someone and say “Oh, look! They have anxiety!" just as you can’t look at someone and say "Oh, look! Their favourite colour is purple!”
Anyone could be suffering from anxiety or any other mental health issue- And you may never know. They’re obviously not going to walk around with a sign saying, “Hi! I have social anxiety!”
Alot of people don’t know what their triggers are, or don’t have a trigger- I am one of those people. I get panic attacks for no reason; and this is more common than you may think.
This means it’s important to be kind to everyone.
You could be speaking to someone with bipolar disorder and not even know it.
You could be speaking to someone with depression and not even know it.
You could be speaking to someone who is completely healthy and not even know it.
BE KIND. WORDS CAN HAVE A BIGGER IMPACT THAN YOU MAY REALIZE.
I can tell you this personally; Another Tumblr user had a big impact on my own mental health, because she didn’t realize how large of an impact her words were having on me. Be kind.
